Welcome to the internet home of the Body Painting of Thom Engel

Bodypainting remains one of the most visually alluring forms of art.  It combines the beauty of the human body with the talents of the artists and the motion of the "canvas" as he or she becomes the moving, living, breathing work of art.

Bodypainting is one of the fastest growing forms of art and personal expression in the world today.  It conveys a visually stimulating message about the person creating the art and the person on whom the art created.  Each creation is completely unique.  It is hand painted specifically on the body of wearer and no two bodies are the same. 

Bodypainting tells a story.  Perhaps it is the story specifically conveyed in the images of the art.  Maybe the personality of the artist comes through.  Or the nature of the "canvas" wearing the paint is revealed.  The person or company commissioning the art draws their audience into the impression and message they want to deliver about themselves, their company or their product.

I am Thom Engel and I have a passion for this art form.  It is not a job... it is my calling... something I do all the time.  Even when I go on vacations, I take my paints with me to just create something if I find a willing soul to be my "canvas".

The ARCHIVES is just what the name implies: a place were old treasures are stored and dragged out occasionally  to look at and remember.  Remember where I started and see where I have come.  IN the archives are many of my early works and frankly, some are not that good while others showed promise.  But it is were I began.
